An electroforming tuning fork sticker is used. This glossy sticker gives a luxurious touch deserving of the high-end model.
Unified color of chin rest fittings
For the YEV104/YEV105, the color of the chin rest fittings is silver. For the YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO, however, the color was changed to black to be consistent with the other chin rest parts. Care has been taken down to smallest details to ensure a sense of unity.
Body Structure closer to acoustic violin
Similar to an acoustic violin, the body is made of spruce on the top board and maple on the back board. It also has slits on the side and a hollow inside like an acoustic violin. This structure delivers a richer, more acoustic sound as well as a quicker response.
Improved bridge specifications
Organic form enhances the feel and qualities of the woods used
The A.R.E. treatment has been applied to the bridge maple wood to further improve the sound quality and response. The shield cover, which is mounted on both sides of the bridge for the YEV104/YEV105, remains only on the tailpiece side for the YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO. Replacement with a thinner material leaves more freedom for the bridge to move, allowing the bridge to capture delicate changes in bowing and convert them to sound.
Pegs with excellent playability
The YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO features highly acclaimed Wittner Finetune Pegs, which are also in high demand for stage use. The internal gears allow precise and quick tuning even on stage.
Lighter weight
The model YEV104PRO weighs about 510 grams, which is the same as an acoustic violin. This is about 50 grams lighter than the YEV104, which makes players feel as if they are playing an acoustic violin.
YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO specific circuit
The circuit was designed for the YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO to match the instrument and its pickup characteristics. This allows the YEV104PRO/YEV105PRO to produce a strong bass sound regardless of the connection to an external device, such as G10, or the ON/OFF of the volume control.

Standard parcels ship via Australia Post, and we offer free shipping for orders over $99 (standard cost is $10). Orders are fulfilled within 3 business days. Standard delivery times are 3-5 days. All instruments are professionally set-up by our workshop, and so fulfilment times for instrument orders are longer (please allow up to 4 weeks currently). Want to get your order as fast as possible? We also offer an express post option which you can select at checkout. Items are sent via Australia Post Express and typically arrive in 1-2 days after your order has been fulfilled.
Larger items such as cellos and large cases require extra care and incur a separate handling and delivery fee of $99. Double Basses sized 1/4 also incur a separate fee of $145, and 1/2 and 3/4 Double Basses a fee of $225. These items are not applicable for free shipping. When ordering larger items to remote locations, or when ordering multiple larger items, there may be an additional delivery cost involved.

Bows for Strings offers the option to 'click and collect' your order at our Glen Waverley showroom. Click and collect items are typically ready within 1 business day (instruments require professional set-up and are typically ready within 4 weeks currently due to back to school demand). We are pleased to offer international shipping to New Zealand! Shipping is currently available for violins, violas, strings and accessories - stay tuned for cellos and double basses. Shipping costs are based on weight and are calculated at checkout - smaller items such as strings or books cost $20, larger items such as a violin or viola cost $35. If you would like a heavier item (cello, double bass, etc) shipped to New Zealand, please contact us for a quote. Delivery typically takes 7-10 days, and fulfilment times are the same as listed above.
