Returns and Refunds
Our team are always happy to discuss refunds, returns and exchanges with you to make sure you get the right instrument or accessory.
Returns
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Please note that Gift Cards are non-refundable.
To complete your return, simply reply to your order confirmation email with details of the item you would like to return.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Refunds (if applicable):
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of any applicable refund.
If your refund is approved, then it will be immediately processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Fine instruments:
Please note, for instruments listed as 'fine instruments' on our website, our exchange and return policy lasts 7 days. After this time a fine instrument purchased in store or online cannot be returned due to 'change of mind'.
Sale items:
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Faulty or damaged goods:
Where an order is received by a customer that is damaged or faulty, Bows for Strings will refund, repair, or exchange all returns or faulty items upon agreement between the customer and Bows for Strings. Delivery and packaging charges are not refundable unless as a result of our error or faulty/damaged goods.
Shipping your product back to us

Customers are responsible for paying shipping costs for returning any item due to change of mind. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, your refund will be for the product price only and not any shipping paid.
Deposits (for in store purchases)
For in-store instrument purchases requiring workshop setup, a deposit is required to reserve the instrument and secure the order. Customers are notified as soon as their instrument is ready for collection, and the remaining balance is paid upon pickup.
If two months pass after the customer has been informed that the instrument is ready and the outstanding balance has not been paid by the customer, the instrument will be returned to stock for sale. At this point, the deposit may be applied to another instrument or refunded in full. The onus is on the customer to ensure they stay in contact and arrange the collection of their instrument within the specified time period, or request a refund.
