Hagen Weise #137 Guarneri Model Violin - 4/4
This violin was made in the workshop of master luthier Hagen Weise. Weise has been active since 1991 when he commenced work for the Roderisch Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004 Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010 Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop located in Bubenreuth, Germany. This instrument comes with a certificate from the maker.
The Hagen 137 has a two-piece; well flamed maple back and the top is made from spruce. This instrument is based on a Guarneri violin model. This violin has a good cover of red-brown varnish and has been moderately antiqued. The 137 has ebony fittings with the option of being fitted with an ebony or Wittner tailpiece.
Overall this violin has a warm sound and good projection. This instrument has great resonance and a well-balanced sound. This instrument would be suitable for early tertiary study, and the advanced musician. This violin is currently fitted with Larsen ‘Il Cannone’ strings which add a touch of brightness and projection to the overall warmth of this instrument.
