Video: European made cello comparison
In this video, Bows for Strings cellist d'Artagnan plays two beautiful European made cellos.
The first cello demonstrated is the Lubos Deraha Vuillaume Model cello, which was handcrafted in the Akord Kvint workshop.
Akord Kvint is a workshop of master makers based in the Luby region in the Czech Republic. Luby has a rich history steeped in violin making that reaches as far back in time as the 17th century. Akord Kvint's workshop was established in 1991, and has been creating beautiful professional and student instruments ever since. Their instruments are proudly 100% European, and the materials used by their luthiers are hand-picked from the most respectable sources in Germany, Austria and France.
The second cello demonstrated is Heinrich Gill's X7 model cello.
The Heinrich Gill workshop was established in 1952 in Bubenreuth, Germany, another region which has a long history of violin making. The workshop is known for producing fantastic quality European made instruments that are suitable for intermediate to advanced players.
The X7 is their flagship model and is the top of their range of European made cellos.
We hope you enjoy these two beautiful instruments! Let us know which sound you prefer.
